What should I do if I get proteinuria

What is proteinuria? It is the increase in protein content in urine, which is a common symptom of urinary system diseases. What is the test method for proteinuria? What are the treatments for proteinuria?
1. Detection methods of proteinuria
The testing methods are divided into qualitative testing and quantitative testing.
Qualitative inspection: Check with test paper. Among them, standard test paper should be used for the determination of total urine protein, and albumin-specific test paper should be used for the determination of urine albumin. If the result is positive, the measurement can be continued.
Quantitative examination: It is the basis for diagnosis and is more important clinically. Traditional methods use the measurement of 24-hour (or 12-hour night) urine protein as the gold indicator for quantitative examination. However, the traditional method of collecting urine at regular intervals (24 hours/12 hours at night) and measuring urine protein is very inconvenient. In particular, the reasons why outpatients are prone to mistakes are (1) incorrect timing, etc., part of the urine is lost and (2) incomplete discharge of the bladder. In the past decade, it has been clinically recommended to use random urine samples (preferably morning urine) to measure the urine protein/inosine or urine white/inosine ratio to replace the traditional timed urine collection method. It is characterized by convenience and accuracy, so it is widely welcomed by patients and doctors. However, we have noticed that this method has not yet been popularized, especially the detection method of urinary albumin/inosine ratio has not yet been mastered by most hospitals. Therefore, patients are advised to undergo examinations based on local conditions.
2. Treatment of proteinuria
Proteinuria is divided into selective proteinuria and non-selective proteinuria. Selective proteinuria refers to protein electrophoresis characterized by mainly proteins with small molecular weights, such as albumin, α1 globulin, transferrin and γ globulin. Proteins with larger molecular weights, such as α2 globulin, fibrinogen penis pump , beta lipoprotein, etc., are less abundant.
In patients with micropathological nephropathy, mild mesangial proliferative nephritis girl butt , partial membranous nephropathy, and early pathological membranous proliferative nephritis and focal sclerosing nephritis, selective proteinuria is most present penis pumping , indicating that the damage to the reticules (glomerular filter membrane) is mild.
Non-selective proteinuria refers to protein electrophoresis characterized by the simultaneous appearance of large and small molecule proteins, and serious damage to the small reticules (glomerular filtration membranes).
Kidney experts analyze that the amount of protein lost is not proportional to the severity of the condition. Patients with mild glomerular lesions may not have less urine protein, such as minimal change nephritis and mild mesangial proliferative nephritis. The renal lesions are mild, but the daily urine protein amount can reach a few grams or even more than ten grams.
On the contrary small vibrator , some focal segmental sclerosing nephritis and crescentic nephritis have serious pathological damage, but the daily urine protein amount may be only a few grams. Therefore, the quality of treatment mainly depends on the renal pathology type, damage status and renal function status.
In addition, it depends on whether the patient can cooperate with the doctor to prevent recurrence triggers such as colds, fatigue, and diarrhea, and whether he can continue treatment and avoid nephrotoxic drugs.
